Les Livres

Dec 10, 2005 10:48

I must get myself into reading again. I'm not even familiar with all the books in the library I have downstairs - and that scares me. I wonder to myself: what have I been doing?

So I'm going to post up a list of books I want to read = ] This way, I can come back and check them off as I finish. (and the saddest thing is, I have all of them. ._.)

... le livre. :D

What you've been doing doesn't seem a question fit to the occasion. Reading is for pleasure, and shouldn't be an obligation - "what have I been doing?" seems more like something you'd end up saying after procrastinating on homework for hours on end.

I'm finishing up Wuthering Heights right now too! :D Cause Song of Solomon gets boring after reading it exclusively, and I dislike reading books at a time. The same with Les Miserables (I was going to start that yesterday, since it caught my eye on the bookshelf, but then it seemed too late to begin).

Funfun.

A lot of mine mirror yours. And there are some other books like Gilead that I bookmarked, but then never got to.

Yeah, I know. Sometimes, though, some books feel like an obligation - like the Tale of Two Cities (which I forgot to include!). But I think it sounds like that because I want to read, but I get lazy, and tend to do other things, .. I dunno, I honestly haven't picked up a real book in quite a while, and it's starting to worry me. You remember the whole "there needs to be a system or else it'll never work out?" Writing should be for pleasure too, (and it is!) but I need that little oomph!, that push, to get me started and keep me continuing.

*wonders* Do you even have the Picture of Dorian Gray?
