This is wonderful! You should definitely crosspost this to the DC comics communities.

Thank you! I may just look into that. The only comic community I know of at the moment is scans_daily, though.

Yes, I did! :D I tried adding "HA HA HA"s to it too, but it didn't look right. Although I just got an idea about how I could make it work...

Thanks!

The modification of the logo is so them. As is sending Jon a crossword puzzle (and a camera). And tormenting Stephen over strike issues. (As if the Joker cares about the plight of the working writer. Hah.)

I love the notion that the day may well be saved by Jon's mad crossword skills.

But I'm still very reassured that Batman's on the case.

(Donovan's gonna die anyway, though, isn't he. *bites nails*)

Yeah, I figured Joker would have to change a set that so blatantly glorified somebody else. His vanity is a match for Stephen's character's. lol And of course he'd be a total dick about the strike.

The crossword thing was added pretty late to the story! Originally Jon didn't do much of anything, but I realized I wanted him to be in on the rescuing in some fashion.

Indeed, Batman is always on the case! (... That sounds reminiscent of Birdman.)

Maybe Donovan will kick the bucket... maybe he'll survive by the skin of his teeth... Who knows? ;)

Harley froze mid-kick and squawked, enraged, over Joker's giggles. The L smashed into the ground at Stephen's feet, and the acrobatic harlequin followed after, looming over him. "Whaddaya mean 'a lot of weight?!'" she snapped. that was really great. i started laughing as soon as stephen mentioned it not holding a lot of weight. it's so her to be upset by it.

again all the characterizations are great. batman is still the badass, cunning detective and joker is as devious as always. i love how you're working jon into this. [and i love that he had to use his inhaler! aww. poor stressed jon.] i can't wait for the next part. i like this story so much!

Lucky for Stephen that Puddin' was there to rescue him from Harley's wrath.

I almost forgot about the inhaler, but when I remembered I figured this was most definitely a situation that required it.

Glad to hear my characterizations are working and you're enjoying it. :)
