The 14th ICC is going well. There have been, however, a few hiccups. In one session yesterday, one speaker did not show. This meant my talk got moved up and there was an extra 20 mins for general discussion. The discussion was really good and no one felt as if any time were wasted. Do people not publish their slides? Very often in math the speaker will put the slides up online somewhere.

No, not usually wholesale. Frequently there is a paper that gets published with the results and the conference abstracts are considered appropriate references since they *are* published online and sometimes in paper form. Given that, the only reason I can think for people to do this is to have the slide to look at later for another project they're working on. I've never encountered anyone using this material otherwise, but it's nonetheless quite disruptive to have flashes and fake shutter noises happening in the middle of a talk.

I have never seen this happen, but then again most of my meetings have been M.xanthus community specific and we're a fairly small community where everyone knows (and did postdocs with) everyone else.

It hasn't happened at the small meetings I've been at, either. In those cases we just ask the person to email us the plot in question since we all work together anyway.
