Lolo said if he had his way, he'd put the country under Martial Law. Agree ako sa kanya. Wala tayong nagagawang matino under a democratic rule. Filipinos need to be straightened out first as a people before we can acyually achieve a functional democracy.

your lolo, the brilliant man that he is, is absolutely right. actually, i believe martial law then worked to enforce discipline kaso corrupt lang si Marcos. martial law can help straighten things out and kick every Filipino in the a** so that we get our act together...

True. He also mentioned that the reason why Filipinos take democracy at face value is because we've never experienced REAL bloodshed to achieve it. I think he was referring to a Civil War...

And as his retirement draws nearer, I am asking myself, "What happens next?"

Sometimes I think posting about my life sounds too trivial and ordinary and Id go thinking who would want to read them anyway but you know what? It is reading from everybody's everyday experiences where I learn something from the Internet too :) Of course, reading opinions is also helpful. As with people who post nothing but trivial stuff, you can read them for entertainment :)

I denied my right to vote this year just because I want to be apolitical. But now, days before election, Im scared. I think my vote would have mattered, as well as others who choose not to care. Whatever happens here, I think I denied my right to complain as well. Since I chose not to care anyway.
