Out of League (drabble)

Summary: League is life.
a/n: This was just a drabble I wrote up during my short-lived league of legends phase. Emphasis on just-a-drabble. Huuuuuuu
Baekhyun glared at the marks on his midterm. It wasn’t the prettiest grade, but at the same time, it was nothing to smile about either. After a few seconds, he shoved the stapled pieces of paper in his bag, following the queue line out the lecture hall.

“Hey.”
Startled, Baekhyun shot his eyes up from the ground and noticed a grinning giant staring at him. Mustering up a smile, he lifted a hand. “Hi.”
“You okay?”
“Yeah…?” Pursing his lips, Baekhyun looked off to the side. “What’s happening in there?”
“Huh?” Turning in the direction the brunet indicated, Chanyeol’s mouth gaped. “Oh. Just having a little gaming party.”
Feigning interest, Baekhyun raised his brows and nodded. “League?”
“League is life,” Chanyeol replied, shrugging. “But anyways, are you sure you’re okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“You’re kind of more...eh than usual?”
Baekhyun blinked. Words that would’ve questioned the giant as to how exactly he seemed ‘eh’ despite only talking to each other for a mere minute almost slipped from his lips, but at the last minute, he found himself deciding that coming off confrontational towards a floor mate would seem bad. Instead, he sighed, shrugging.
“I’m just tired,” he settled.
“Well, if you say so,” Chanyeol accepted. Pointing towards his room, he added, “If you feel like playing with us, bring your laptop. We need a fifth person to play as support.”
“Thanks for the invite,” Baekhyun said, stepping off to the side to walk around the tall boy. “But I’m not really a League gamer, so…”
“Gonna take a nap then?”
“Yep.”
“Alright, alright.” Stepping inside his dorm, Chanyeol made hand motions as if he was tipping a hat in the brunet’s direction. “I’ll see you around, neighbor.”
“See you around,” Baekhyun said back. Then with five tiny steps down the hall, he swiped his key and stepped inside his room, faintly hearing Chanyeol’s voice and laughter beyond the thin walls of their building.
