Eeeeeee, for me! You know, I would have missed this if you hadn't sent me a message, because I was only reading you on Dreamwidth.

I am very much looking forward to reading it! It will have to wait a little while, though, because I have to get up early tomorrow and need some sleep. Also, I am so intrigued that you played around in my shifter-verse--I can't wait to see what you did with that.

Yes! I finally finished it! *g*

This turned out a lot longer than I had expected :)

I am on my way to bed, too - for once I'm in the same time zone as someone *g* I really hope you enjoy it!

Oh, and actually, I'm really bad with updating my Dreamwith... I keep meaning to make the switch, but I am so technically challenged that I lose faith before I even get started...

Awesome story! I was wondering through the whole thing until it was revealed who the wolf was, you'll notice I did say who and not what. *g* I kind of thought it might be Bob. I've got to go get warm now. Your story has me shivering.

Thank you! I'm so happy you liked it :) Yes, I wanted it to be a bit of a mystery who the shifter really was, so I'm happy it worked :)

... I was writing this while the temperature was down to - 10 C and it was snowing, so I had plenty of RL cold to inspire me :)

Yay! Thank you :) I was kind of trying to write an amateur's homage to Jack London's 'To Build a Fire'... Have you read it? It's one of the most suspenseful and chill-inducing short stories I have ever read!

...huh. That works. Nice detail about the survival stuff and I like Buck's relationship with Caroline and Bob. (Though how he managed not to notice that his partner was a werewolf...)

Thank you! I'm happy you liked the survival stuff, it's kind of a favourite fiction (Jack London) trope of mine :)

Though how he managed not to notice that his partner was a werewolf...

Yes, you'd think it'd slip into conversation at some point *g* But, actually, Bob's a shifter in this story, so he changes at will, not with the moon - so he could keep it secret if he wanted to. I kind of imagined for this story that it was something so private and complex for him to come to terms with (unlike shifter!Caroline, in Luzula's stories, who is completely at peace with it), because of his personality, that he keep it secret unless he absoltely has to reveal it.

Ahhh, okay. I assumed that shifting was at least a part that he couldn't completely control/had to do regularly, which would be kind of difficult to hide when they were out hunting criminals for weeks at a time in a single tent. That works.

Yes, I guess it is a little obscure, because I didn't give a lot of explanation, since I was building on an already existing story. But I'm really happy you stuck with it and enjoyed the story anyways :)
