could someone tell me what film festival the middle-pic is from? there is one of the chinese signs depicting the city that i cannot read XD (seriously, I can read 3/4)
yes, thought it said :D "Shanghai" are the two signs in the middle - Shang which means "over" and "hai" means sea, so the name means "over the sea" X) the sign to the left shows that it is in a certain order - just like in English we write 20th or 1st in English. the sign to the right is the old version of kingdom - in this sentence it means international I actually went online to their website and checked the rest of the sentence, just to make sure that I didn't translate it in a weird way XD can also point out that the two signs visible on the wall between their heads means China (first sign means "middle", second means "kingdom" - China is known as the "kingdom in the middle" since old times). when you play mahjang (old chinese version of poker, with blocks instead of cards), the first symbol stands for Red Dragon though :P but I think it's written with a longer downward-line than "middle"
WOW! I'm impressed! That is so interesting, I love how names of countries mean something "over the Sea" sounds so sweet! Thanks for the translation Sandra! *hugs*
