Today was Alicia's 20th birthday. My miracle baby is now no longer a teenager. Sometimes, it seems like she grew up too fast and I just want her to be little again, while others, I'm excited to see where she goes and what she does next. So I started today all in a good mood that quickly devolved into something darker

I can remember when it was my baby brother's wedding (he is 6 years younger than me), and I couldn't believe how grown up he was. I mentioned that to Mum and she basically said "tell me about it". Yes, sorry, but your babies are growing up!

Life is change - and it does tend to leave you feeling black and blue from time to time. My first baby is about to turn 41! And my eldest grandson just celebrated 21! I remember the day he was born like it was yesterday. I find it hard to process, as well. And yet, you find yourself moving forward whether you like it or not.

Here's extra hugs and warm thoughts to carry you through the next ten days, my dear. A little self-indulgence won't hurt at this time. And a tight snuggle with your baby wouldn't hurt, either.
