I met a cat on the road today; this was strange, because cats are generally the first to leave an area when they perceive that there is nothing to benefit them in staying. But this cat was slim bordering on scrawny; whatever had kept her here, it was not good fortune.

I stepped out of the Acrolica and onto the road, which was still scattered with the debris of my earlier entry--shingles and splinters, flakes of paint fallen like hard snow across the pavement. The air in the Acrolica is thick and dry. It has so many scents--dust, oil, smoke and electricity. The walls inside are paneled with a material I couldn't begin to name. Calamity. Catastophe! This has never happened--in all Estune time, this has never happened, and I cannot understand why it should happen now. Standing where I am I can feel that things were as they should have been--that this, whatever it was, can only be described as an attack on the natural order--but I get ahead of myself.
