If I weren't such a lazy person, I'd write the fic that's been rattling around in my brain. A Tidus/Yuna story set after his reapperance in X-2, dealing with the real trials and tribulations of a relationship. Mostly because happy, perfect romances bug me. I mean, sure, they're cute together and all, but they never really had time to just be ( Read more... )

NEVER PLAYED X (yet) but like I know what you mean about the "TEEHEE RAINBOWS AND FLUFFY KITTENS OMG PARFICCT!!1" fairytale romance crap. Case in point: Squall and Rinoa. :| (lmao I seriously don't like that pairing ksjdfds I mean I don't hate it, but I also just don't like it because it seems so... unrealistic to me. I've been somewhat involved with a guy who's my opposite, and I just... we could not get along with each other to be anything more than friends. :|) Those kinds of things bug meeee sflsdf I mean, you CAN have a good relationship that's... near perfect but not that quick, for one, and two, there are always gonna be things here and there that bug you about your SO 'cause unless you're dating yourself or someone EXACTLY like you, that can't be avoided.

TOTALLY WRITE IT, THOUGH. Even if I'm not part of the fandom, it would be nice to see something written where people DON'T live happily ever fucking after in Rainbowland. :D

I read stapler as "Stabler" (who is in my icon). Mild obsession, much?

LOL. Stabler looks cute. I don't think I'd mind having one of him on my desk >.> He'd suck at getting my papers to stick together but -- Wait. That train of thought turned naughty. Ahem ( ... )

God, I would love to see some realistic T/Y, because it looks cute, but when you REALLY think about it, dude, they made out once, clearly liked one another, and then Yuna fixated on his memory for two odd years and you could make a case for Tidus really just liking the idea of Yuna because he does have a total hero complex, you know, here's the pretty damsel! I really think you could make an equal case for Yuna liking the "idea" of Tidus more even than Tidus himself; you know, an outsider, totally different from everyone else she knows, who she obsesses over ( ... )

A-freaking-men, sister. It's right there in the last FMV: Tidus observes how much she's changed, Yuna tells him it's been a while, and then he says he wants to hear all about it. THE END. In my mind, that doesn't automatically equate to a "happily ever after". Yuna did change, and who is to say Tidus will like all of it? When he left she was meek and submissive, and now she's got a mind of her own. Not saying he's a chauvinistic pig, but what was a gradual change for Yuna would be a very sudden adjustment for Tidus to have to make, which could cause major complications.

Alternatively, Tidus changed throughout the course of FFX, but compared to the two years of growth Yuna has had since then, he'd probably come off as extremely immature. As much as I like the boy, I've known ones just like him in reality and they can get grating on the nerves when taken in large doses. I can't help but think there might be moments when Yuna would feel the same way.

Long story short, "opposites attract" can be interesting and engaging but, like you ( ... )

Oh, god yes. I love Tidus into little peroxide bits, but he's amazingly immature compared to Yuna. Yes, he grew up a lot over FFX and I love him for it, but "growing through events" is way, way different from "spending two years doing this and that," especially since Tidus even as he grows up never changes his basic opinions and viewpoints. Yuna does! And no, it has nothing to do with being chauvinistic, but I get you on that note, too. Tidus liked Yuna as she was and while I'm sure he's a good enough person to be able to like "new" Yuna, it's a HUGE DIFFERENCE. And who knows, maybe he's just attracted to quiet girls; it doesn't make him a jerk, but still. Maybe he just isn't attracted to outgoing types, or maybe the change is too jarring.

Another thought I've always had is that Spira has a HUGE marrying young and having children young thing, which makes sense what with Sin/Monsters/blah blah. Tidus? Probably does not have that ingrained desire. In fact I would be amazingly surprised if an outgoing, attention-seeking 17-yr-old like ( ... )

I'd actually really like to read that! Tidus and Yuna are my all-time favorite OTP in the world but I could totally see how they wouldn't have the perfect fairy tale romance after X-2.

I actually get what you say about her liking the idea of him rather than Tidus himself, one example coming to mind the one in X-2 where it's them being shot, not Lenne and Shuyin. That scene just painted Tidus as much more quiet and different than the rambunctious hero I know and love.

But it's weird. Yuna got more immature as the game progressed in X-2. Showing her jealously openly for Lenne and donning a pair of booty shorts.

I think they'd still be happy in the end though. Even if I still think Yuna had a thing for Jecht for the beginning of the game, not his son. OOH SNAP. (Still my OTP though.)

I WANT TO READ. That's the final answer.

You know, I never thought about Yuna having a thing for Jecht, but now that you bring it up ... :O She did totally fangirl him in the beginning, didn't she? That's so cute ( ... )

I think that'd be so cute! And you're not bashing them as a couple, either. I think they're kind of meant to be together, but I think half the fun is what you're describing, which is really learning about each other. Which they don't, really when you sit down and think about it. SAD.

(I hate baby plots, fyi, so that's pretty much the reason I stopped reading fanfiction for those two. So annoying!)

Dude, I want to RP Tidus again with you and Koko, man. ;_; It always is too short lived and I loves Rikku/Auron/Tidus so, so much.

I think my problem with FFRP right now is that there aren't a lot of pre-existing plots out there that interest me. (Not being a fan of the OMG!highschool/university lines). So in order to play, I usually have to be a mod which ... bogs me down and distracts me from the fun of the actual rp. But I would SO TOTALLY love to just find a place with you and Koko and just play, you know?

Although I think there was one going around that was ff-based, with themes of silent hill mixed in. I remember reading about it and, like, your character wakes up in an unfamiliar monster infested town. Where your only real plot point is to freakin' survive. 3,2,1 Apocalypse, or something like that? Maybe we should go give that a look-see :D
