But he doesn't leave the counter, slides a few feet along to leave room for the next customer to approach. In between orders, he strikes up conversation. ]
[He takes the money, presses a button on the cash register and the drawer opens up. He places the money inside and closes the drawer again.]
Like not waking up on a train with no memory of how I got there, arriving in some strange city, and then having to get a minimum wage job to pay for an apartment in said strange city.
