I am not usually an alarmist by any means, but having heard that there is a recent resurgence of antibiotic resistant scarlet fever, which is from the same strain as strep, please be sure to have her tested for it. Penicillin is still effective against it, so if that is what they already gave you guys no problem, but otherwise please go back and be checked. That body rash makes me nervous, as that is characteristic of scarlet fever. Hope you all feel tons better!
Thanks Lish, but she responded to the antibiotics (or recovered on her own) within a day or two. The rash is also indicative of Strep A, which is why the doc treated immediately.
