Niko didn't want to know, but I told him anyway. "Spartacus tried to catch one of the birds in the bar and knocked the TV off the wall," I said, giving the mummified cat a pat on his hairless flank.
One of Nik's brows rose. "Where were you?"
"Behind the bar, doing my job," I replied. "Speaking of which, since you have nothing to do tonight other than staying home to meditate and eat tofu, why don't you keep Spartacus?"
"I do have plans."
I frowned. "Hot date?"
Nik's gray eyes lightened with humor. "As a matter of fact, yes."
