Here we are, the first weekend of June already. Once more, the first weekend of the month has brought rain and a new JMDC. :D
This month, the prompt is celebration, or any version thereof, such as 'celebrate' or 'celebratory', etc. You are free to write/draw any fandom, pairing, threesome, gen fic, etc. Combine it with other prompts, if you are able to. Please post your entry in your own journal (unlocked!) or a community of your choice, and leave me a link in the comments below. You have until Sunday, June 17, at 11:00pm CST to submit an entry. At that time, I'll post links to the entries and draw a name from among the participants to receive a drabble from me. Below is my entry for the month:

Summary: Harry and Draco have lots to celebrate.
Harry looped his arms around Draco's neck and pressed himself close. "Five years," he mused. "Who would have thought it would last this long?"
"I certainly didn't," Draco admitted. He tightened his arms around Harry's waist and guided him through the simple steps of the slow dance they were engaged in. Draco enjoyed dancing; it gave him an excuse to hold Harry in public. Of course, being in such close proximity was rapidly giving rise to something best dealt with in private.
"How soon may we leave?" Draco whispered, surreptitiously frotting himself against Harry.
"Draco!" Harry hissed, pretending to be scandalized. "We can't leave any time soon. This is an important celebration, and all of our friends and family are here."
"Your friends and family, you mean," Draco drawled. He gazed about the ballroom, noting the overabundance of Gryffindors present. The venue was even decorated in Gryffindor colors, for Merlin's sake.
"They're your friends and family now, too," said Harry. "Or, they will be family if we ever get married."
Draco drew back to grin at him. "Are you proposing, Potter?" he teased.
"What if I am?" Harry shot back before he could stop himself. He'd been wanting to make his relationship with Draco a permanent one for a long time.
Draco's humorous expression gentled into something that took Harry's breath away. "Then I daresay we'd have something far more important to celebrate this evening than Granger and Weasley's fifth wedding anniversary," he murmured.
Harry's heart was racing, but he managed to say, "This is their night. It would be unfair to upstage them."
"You Gryffindors are far too noble, you know that?" sighed Draco. He moved his hands to Harry's hips and swayed with him as they made another gradual circuit of the dance floor. "May we at least step out on the veranda?" Draco inquired.
"Will my virtue be safe?" chuckled Harry.
"Berk," snorted Draco. "I've lost count of the number of times I've compromised your virtue, and I daresay you enjoyed it each time."
Harry laughed out loud, drawing the attention of some of the other guests. They simply smiled at the happy pair and returned to their own conversations or dancing.
Harry stepped out of Draco's arms and grabbed Draco's hand. "Let's go, you masher," he said, heading for the veranda. They exited the ballroom and walked to the balustrade, both pausing to draw deep, appreciative breaths of cool air. As one, they turned with their backs to the rail and leaned against it. They were touching at the shoulders and feeling quite content.
"Was there something you wished to ask me?" Draco prompted. He had wanted to make things official between them, but he was afraid Harry would turn him down. Draco had reasoned that Harry was the brave one, and that he would propose when he felt like it.
"I-I don't have a ring yet," Harry said, feeling at a loss.
"It may be best for me to choose my own," Draco said. "I imagine you would have selected something horrid."
Harry elbowed Draco in the side. "Now who's a berk?" he grumbled. "For your information, I would have chosen something silver. It might even have included an emerald."
"Tell me more," said Draco, closing his eyes and taking another deep breath.
"You greedy sod," scolded Harry. "I bet you're getting a stiffy just thinking about it."
This time, it was Draco who laughed out loud. "For your information, I've had a stiffy since you kept rubbing up against me on the dance floor."
"Mm, perhaps we should go home," purred Harry, sidling closer and slinging his arm around Draco's waist.
"Not a chance," said Draco. "You're the one who said we had to make nice with the Granger-Weasleys and all the other Gryffindors. Besides, I believe I deserve a promise from you before allowing you to compromise my virtue again."
Harry grew serious. If Draco was pressing him to propose, it must mean he was as eager to get married as Harry was. Harry stepped in front of Draco and took both of Draco's hands in his. He cleared his throat. "Draco Malfoy, will you-"
"Hey, Harry! They're cutting the cake!" George bellowed from the open doorway.
Harry groaned and let his forehead fall against Draco's shoulder. Draco laughed, although he, too, was feeling frustrated. "Oy, Weasley, give us a minute!" he called to George.
"You have three minutes," said George, "and you'd better not have mussed clothing and shag hair when you return."
"Is he gone?" Harry asked. His voice was muffled against Draco's shoulder.
"Yes, he's gone," said Draco. "Please proceed."
Harry raised his head, grinned and lifted one shoulder in a shrug. "Ahem. As I was saying-"
"Before you were so rudely interrupted."
"...Draco Malfoy, will you marry me?"
Draco leaned close until their lips were almost touching. "I would be honored," he whispered before closing the gap between them. They celebrated their newly-engaged status with a gentle kiss that quickly became quite heated.
"Stop snogging and get in here!" George yelled from the ballroom.
Harry detached his lips from Draco's and sighed in disappointment. "We may as well go in," he said.
Draco smoothed his hair as he allowed Harry to lead him back indoors. "Alright, Harry," he said. "But as soon as we're done celebrating with Granger and Weasley, we're going home to celebrate our own milestone in private."
