BOYS. help?

If you've traveled to Florida for Disney World/Universal Studios (or live there), I need your help!

We're planning on going (5 of us) in October but rates/packages are CRAZY expensive. I wanna know if you have any tips at all or anything as we're planning this trip?

Why are they driving me insane?

Try to find a hotel that offers a free shuttle to all the parks. It's cheaper, plus you don't have to worry about taxis/renting a car/finding your way around.

Go the the seafood restaurant right by the Jaws ride. They have the best shrimp I've ever eaten!

Try not to kill all the little kids or masses of people. It'll be tempting, but I don't want you to go to jail. :p

If you don't care about the parade at Disney, skip it. It's the perfect time to go on rides because there are no lines.

Expect to spend lots of money, on food, on souvenirs, on tickets, on everything. There really isn't a way around it, unfortunately. I wish there was.

Hope this helps!

Also, BOYS! &hearts

Honestly, it was fun but not so much fun that I'd want to go back. Especially Disney. Epcot is pretty much a waste, and all the crowds got to me. I don't think Disney or Universal are worth the money unless you really, desperately want to go. The only thing I'd go to Universal for is the HP thing. I'd only spend one day each at Disney and Universal and look for other, much cheaper attractions nearby.

Ha, yeah, I'm a party pooper. :p

We were gonna do Disney one day, Seaworld another, HP land another, then Universal another. Then spend the rest of the time on beaches or just whatever. I think. haha

If you have AAA I would check there. They sometimes have deals going. Otherwise, one of my faaaavorite sites is travelzoo.com. They have an entertainment package page or the vacation deals page a la this and this, where, shocker! they have Disney deals. Also check around that site for airline deals too, they find good ones. And as for Disney itself, they've raised the prices SO MUCH that for even a Florida resident like myself, it's $70 a ticket, so unfortunately you're still going to end up paying a bit. :\

And omggg I hope it works out that I can meet up with you! EEEE. :D

I do not, unfortunately!

Awesome, thanks! Dude, I KNOW. It's like 82 for a day and my expression was :O

K so we're going Oct. 15-22, which sucks because idk if you have work and we're not going to be staying the next weekend. But you and me can at least do dinner or something? I have to find out our itinerary first

Yeah, I won't get back in town until the 17th, BUT! I could definitely drive over on the 21st, that Thursday, because I only work a half a day on Friday, so staying out late the night before is no problemo for me, haha. I could get off work at 5pm on Thursday, and it's only an hour a half drive so we could definitely do dinner or something if you don't have anything else planned for then! :DDD (Also, like I said, I work half a day on Friday, but since that'll be the day you're leaving, I figure you'll be getting all packed and shipped off to the airport and stuff. But if your flight happens to be late at night I can come for a visit then too!)

Yeah they did, unfortunately. But see, we don't want to go and realize it might have been better to purchase online you know?

How far is Kissimmee (I saw some nice hotels there) from like Universal and stuff?

Haha yeah I figured, but will def. keep in mind that souvenirs and food can wait!

Really? Hmm interesting.

They're ALWAYS adorable haha

Huh interesting. We're thinking about renting a car too, to travel so any places close to Orlando and stuff that are fun would be great!

Haha sell away, we need good things and enticements to make sure the trip is worth it! haha

Learn all about the Fastpass system, to maximize your time in the parks and make sure you get your money's worth. Make sure your tickets are good for 'park hopping'. It used to be that the more days your tickets were good for, the cheaper per day, and there aren't that many ways to get deals on tickets, sadly. the Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT have some great rides (tho most are at TMK) but I will tell you that I think Animal Kingdom is a huge bore, both for adults and kids, so when you're budgeting your time, keep that in mind ( ... )

Okay cool. We were thinking Disney for a day because bro isn't too keen on going, so maybe JUST Magic Kingdom.

Yeah we're definitely going to keep that in mind!

At least it's good exercise? haha

*sighs* Why is money such an issue? But yeah, we were thinking somewhere nearby, depending on how expensive and stuff.

Yay, thanks Des!
