[ ... hrrr it's a picture of Michi with her older brother.
They're on the porch of the family house - Michi is twelve, and her brother is sixteen.
They're having fun; Michi is having a piggyback ride, and grinning broadly, just like she does nowadays, with real warmth and heart.

She feels a little bubble of emotion well up in her throat, and her eyes go a little glassy. ]

[Hope practically crashes into Michi's room, obviously running away from something -- someone. She's wheezing, hair and bruises and blood everywhere, and finally collapses on the ground.]

[ Michi utters a little, choked scream as Hope crashes in - she backs up sharply against a wall until she realises who it is, eyes widening somewhat fearfully.

A- Anna! What happened?! [ She dashes forward, pretty much falling to her knees beside her, hands hovering uselessly as she tries to assess whether touching Hope would be wise or not. ] W- what - or who - did this to ya? Are ya okay? Ya breathin' sounds real funny- [ dafhjkldgff PANIC ]

[Hope snaps her head up, but her expression breaks immediately into an utterly crushed grimace. The girl who was never seen crying in her entire life doesn't even try to hold back her tears at that moment, hands hiding her face.]

He's--[She chokes and gasps for air, sobbing miserably.] Don't let him find me, please.

[ He starts very slightly at the sound of her voice, turning around to face her with a frown, until he sort of recognises who she is. Instinctively, he pulls the photograph to his chest, giving Kaena a very mild, apologetic sort of smile. ]
