I started writing this on my netbook, hoping to be able to carry it with me and find a way to squeeze in some writing in odd moments during the day. Yesterday I had more time than normal for lunch, brought out the netbook and was able to boost my word count by a little.

Despite the doings of the holiday weekend -- including a local wedding that featured, among other things, pitchers of margaritas, strawberry shortcake, and silly hats for the dance floor -- I did manage to keep up with my minimum word counts this weekend, though not actually post about them. (Oh, tequila, our tumultuous history continues...)

Following the admirable example of xochiquetzl, I have revised my vow to write something everyday to write at least 250 new words a day. Not a stretch goal, but this is more about getting myself back into the habit of writing every day than about production. After I reestablish that habit, I can work on production.

Dysfunction
A couple of weeks ago, Jay Zee's sister asked if we could move back Fathers' Day a week, because they had other things they needed to do on the normal day. Days like this
When I lived in Wisconsin, the morning DJ on one of the public radio stations would describe this as an introspective day . For a long time, I've tried to remember that whenever this sort of dreary weather starts to get me down, but it doesn't work as well as it used to.
