TAlking with my cousin and others (NT) and her brother (Autistic) "Your job is very hands on with your clients" Reply " Oh no you don't have to touch them!" My autistic cousin and I were the only ones laughing.

I think we are. I feel like he is my long lost twin brother. So far we have not spoken much as we met at a funeral. I had my duties. I am going to phone him and see if we can get together over easter but I am very shy that way. I think he is too. Fortunately another cousin can act as an intermediary. Her brother (another cousin) is autistic too. I have not met him either.

I think it's great that you have family members to relate to. Many members of mine are defintely spectrum-y but the rampant Bipolar issues override them (IMO). I've often been to the one to laugh when no else does or not respond when everyone else does. As my mom constantly tells me "you people [i.e. spectrum individuals] have a wonderful sense of humor and can often use it to your benefit". I think humor & wit are the main reasons I've gotten through formal schooling.

Up until I met my cousin generally I am the only one laughing although I do have an adoptive familly who have two autistic children and we laugh a lot but I have moved away so mostly it's as you say. That's why I look forward to meeting him again. I got through formal schooling by hiding and opting out as soon as I could do so. I admire your tenacity at sticking with you course.
Thanks for asking, today I am feeling very lonely (unusual for me) and depressed. I realised I have been in this town for 14 months and I don't have one friend. I think it is ontop of my brother who I always felt was one of the few people who could understand and I could ask what the world was all about. Your email has come just at the right time. Yes we do do those sorts of things a lot, sometimes it is funny.
I have just moved some stuff into my new flat and there are musicians next door, That makes me happy it also makes me happy that I am a much better drummere than who ever it is. Strange how our emotions can swith so fast, I also have heard the we autistic people do that and look back on those glum periods and wonder what it was all about.
