My mom LOVES those Sponch cookies! True story. I'm not from Albuquerque, though.

Hah! I've only not paid for the light-rail once because I have heard of coppers asking for your transfers. They don't do it very often, but if you get caught without a transfer they charge you almost two hundred bucks! I didn't pay once because I couldn't find change in my purse and I was SUPER worried that this was the one time I'd be asked!

Yeah, the idea is that they check just often enough that it would cost you more to never buy a ticket and get caught every so often than to just buy the ticket every time.

Marshmallows-on-a-biscuit doesn't seem that hot to me, but my mom says she loved them when she was a kid in Mexico.

They're the childhood dessert by excellence. That, and the Bimbo pieces of toast with buttery sugar on top.

What is the Bimbo version of those things called? Gamesa? Ganesa? Gansita? I know the SPONCH is a knockoff but I can't remember the Bimbo name for the life of me.

Coco-malvavisco is not my style; I'm a Bimbuñuelo girl fo' sho'.

I am a Minneapolitan. I take the bus, unless I am going to the airport.

I love Sacajawea dollars, though.

Oh, why do we PAY.

Because cops charge you $80 if they catch you without a ticket. And you can't talk your way out of it.

I thought it was $180 for some reason.

I also only took it to go to the airport. My friend got caught once - $180. I've also seen two people get caught. It's about 50 percent of the time too.

$175.

I see cops about half the time I ride it (I only ride it when I go to the airport, so about once every couple months).
