We had a very nice weekend - not only was it gorgeously mild, we had a party ( to attend! )

It's been another more or less quiet week, mostly because the females in the family have ( been sick. )

It's been a busy couple of weeks, thus the no posts :-) I'll summarize it as best I can back under the ( cut. )

Last week I was sending the children to school in summer dresses, short sleeves, even shorts. This week the weather finally remembers that it is December, and the temperature is supposed to top out around 50. Better, though I'm sure the yanks are laughing saying "You call that cold? So even though there were to be no guests, it was party on time Saturday. They both were importuning me to let them open presents pretty much from the moment they woke up. I don't believe the children got the notice about Daylight Savings Time ending. They have noticed that it's dark outside when I come to pick them up, but they resist bedtime just as strenuously. So we had an incident yesterday that left hubby and I feeling like total clods. After their lunch, as a reward for clearing the plate totally, I presented each of the small people with a sugar cookie and they both wandered off nibbling on their prizes. Ryan's pre-K class has a mascot, a stuffed cougar named Kelsey. Each child gets to take Kelsey home for a weekend and take care of her. I guess being a jerk can start really early. So far at the school Ryan and Rachel go to I've seen thankfully little evidence of the storied cruelty of children.
