I'm doing another month of crack_van recs, I wasn't really planning on it, but no one else is signing up, and I think if there's going to be a last go around for MFU, it might as well be me ;) As usual, I have a fairly varied selection, and as usual I want to talk about them. Last time around (I didn't realize it was more than a year ago) I slacked off on ( Read more... )

She's very talented. I wish she'd stuck around MFU longer! She's able to write real stories, not just id fic.

I haven't read this one. And now I will! So you can pat yourself on the back for writing the sort of rec that makes people want to seek out the fic.

As soon as I mentioned that the dreaded luv word wasn't there... :)

I don't want to oversell it, but the first scene is really well done, and restraint is a pretty rare commodity in slash.

Now I will too. I was going to read it right now, until I noticed the length, and realised the depth of it.
Even "The Fischof brothers (in truth three brothers and one first cousin, maternal)" breaks the simplistic criminal-brothers mould straight away with the additional detail.
Obviously too good to race through first thing in the morning.

Yeah, give yourself some time when you read it. I think you'll enjoy it.

Wonderfully written, emotionally connected without being maudlin. The scene where Napoleon is injured was truly harrowing.

I hope xparrot will return to write for us cousins again someday. She's a terrific writer. Thank you for the rec.

I think she did maybe seven or eight MFU stories. They're all on AO3--if you haven't had a chance to read them before you're in for a treat!

I don't get much out of stories written for fandoms I don't know, and she's into a lot of anime so I haven't really gone through her other writings.
