The Long HM list for The Best Horror of the Year volume 5 (part one)

I'll leave this open to comments for now, but LJ has been spammy this past year, which is why I've essentially stopped using it. So if that happens, I will close down the comments. (I'll link from FB and Twitter to here so you could comment on FB or Twitter if this gets closed down).

Thank you so much for the mentions for The Journal of Unlikely Entomology! Just a point of clarification: Amanda C. Davis' Drift was a reprint. It originally appeared in Shock Totem #3. It's a wonderful story, but I didn't want to steal undue credit from the original publishers.Sorry for any confusion.

Thanks. Nuts, I didn't know that. OK. Will take it off the list.

That's okay, Ellen. You listed on the HM list for volume 4. At least it still resonates. =)

Thrilled to see Dale Bailey's stories on the list. Can't wait for the next part of the list.

BTW, Xia Jia's family name is "Xia", not "Jia." (i.e., she should be alphabetized under "X", not "J") It can be confusing with two syllable Chinese names whether someone has flipped her name around (to match English-language custom) or left it family name first (as per Chinese custom). In this case, she has left it family name first.

Ellen;

I was wondering why the silence and I don't blame you: Spam is evil. I would miss this site as your news is important to me.

It's also my only way to contact you.

Lucius Shepard is listed as the KGB guest for Oct. and I'm willing to come down from Toronto just to meet him. However, he cancelled Readercon. Will he be making it to KGB?

You can contact me at fisajenko@rogers.com.

Thanks
