Hockey, dumbassery and privacy

So the tournament went pretty much the worst case route for poor Twisty G. He played so badly they had to pull him and put the other goalie in who managed to shut down the other team. Which allowed us to tie up the game and then win in over time. The team was ecstatic, Twisty G was crushed ( Read more... )

I've ALWAYS loved all of your posts. They're always so raw and sometimes I feel like you're in my brain. And let's not talk about poor username decisions...

Hi. I'm glad you're back. And I find conversations my parental friends have with their kids strangely fascinating. Because how do we take this crazy shit we all take for granted and distill it into something a kid can understand. And then sometimes you realize it really is kind of fucked. Because why do we really not talk about how much we make? Because we might find out that the guy in the next cubicle makes more even though he does less, and then who the fuck knows what would happen. But with kids, you also don't want them to worry. My dad said awhile back that he should have taught me more about mutual funds, which I think maybe means their retirement is not as great as it should be, but on the other hand they both retired early. And they gave me enough skills to budget well and when I needed to know about investing, I went and learned.

I'm glad you're happy with your job. I always feel I'm lazy and never living up to my potential, but I'm pretty happy, so that's good, right?

Happy is where it's at! I had someone ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and I said happy. They said I didn't understand the question but I think they didn't understand the answer :)
