The Revision Process

 It shouldn't come as a big surprise that I am currently revising a manuscript.  (Sheesh, when am I not revising a manuscript?)  (Like, never.)

In the pictured sample revision, the evil adverb, "Ruthlessly," should have been deleted. ;-)

LOL! Though, I dunno...

...sometimes a well-placed adverb can do wonders. That one seems pretty important. Too bad there aren't thirteen different words to express the "edit" concept. If there were, I could certainly procrastinate on my revision and do a post about it.;)

And the "right" way to revise can change from project to project, depending on the novel's needs. At some point, you just have to dive in and do it. Good luck on your revisions!

I don't think I've ever revised the same way twice. I've sure tried, though...

You're welcome. And you're right--it is too bad there isn't a method that works for everyone. It sure would cut my procrastination time in half.

It's so true--the only way to find out what works for you is to try. I found the one-pass idea helpful in part, but only in part and know it's going to take me at least another one or two passes before I'm ready to submit.
