As yet, I've not read any of that series; for some reason, the premise has never quite caught my fancy. I don't know why.

Well, this is not some "Miss Marple in Africa" as some publishers claim; these are not detective stories at all. The main idea seems to be seeing things from the Botswanan point of view (as well as a white male writer can do that).
