Three bags in each hand, Karolina circled the rack of dresses. She'd nearly finished her Christmas shopping and for that, she was proud. So proud, in fact, she was going to reward herself with a dress for any possible Christmas parties thrown or she, herself, threw. As close to the holidays as it was, Karolina did her best to keep herself ( Read more... )

Originally, Amy only accompanied Karolina to keep her company and to help carry anything the blonde needed help with. There weren't many people she needed to buy for. It was a handful at most, but she ended up picking up more than she thought she'd get - it helped that she got Karolina's present out of the way a week or two earlier.

She couldn't help but smirk as she watched Karolina circle around the dress rack. Leaning back against a pillar, she relaxed. "'Cause they want you to buy more of them. Maybe if we get two dresses of different colors and rub them together they'll reproduce?"

Karolina glanced to the ginger, a bemused smile crossing her face. "They're crafty, money-hungry, retailers and they need to stop flashing so many pretty things in front of me."

She glanced in Amy's direction, and it might have been a subconscious action because the moment she said 'pretty', her eyes met Amy's. Not for very long, but it happened. She shook her head, looking back to the dresses. "If we rub too many dresses together, the little dress babies will end up looking like me."

A slow smile slipped across Amy's face when their eyes met. Oh, the ideas that were running through her head. For now, she'd stay back and see what happened.

"That's not such a bad thing, you know" She pushed herself away from the pillar and walked over to the rack. "I think you're beautiful," she said with a small pause, "when you're all shimmery."

"Oh, I know," Karolina nodded, glancing to Amy again. "It's just not very pretty when it looks like the dress factory blew up and someone tried to sew the leftover pieces together." Looking left then right, she lifted her hand and the glow spread from the tips of her fingers to her forearm.

"Is it wrong and really shallow that I don't want my dress to clash with me?" Karolina laughed as the glow faded. Her cheeks remained pink, however, at Amy's compliment. "Thanks."
