Oddly enough, more when I'm scaning through comments to other fics. I'm usually very protective of the things I like and if I'm reading the comments it's because I liked the fic. I'm not nearly as protective of my own fics because I usually agree with the crit, even sans con. :p
Not gonna defend #3 - just making a (pointless) observation.
It's a good thing that immature fans can't really bug creators of their "beloved" canons. Or couldn't, before the era of blogs.
Still, ficwriters are the most easily accesible. And fics are mostly considered less serious form of creative writing, thus it's as if it were okay to tell authors all those things. Because it's "just a fic".
Interaction is one of the things I love about ficcing. And, while they are pet peeves, these things wouldn't stop me from allowing anonymous posting or make me delete comments (I tend to keep even flame comments up). They just irritate me.
I don't know why anyone would heckle you of all people to update. I'm always getting email alerts from you. XD
As for flames, hmm...I don't think I've ever gotten flamed before. I've gotten negative feedback, but I usually agree with it. And, if I don't agree with it, it's still a legitimate opinion. What bothers me are reviews I don't understand. I've gotten reviews like "lol" for fics I consider to be rather angsty, and then I spend way too long trying to figure out what that means.
I KNOW! My tiny constant chapters are the irritation of the Code Geass world! I'm cool with this. :p
I don't think I've ever seen a flame on one of your stories (yes, I read comments to your fics on FFN like a creepy stalker) but I have seen crit I haven't agreed with. But then again, I tend to both like your stuff and trust that where ever you're going with it, it's gonna be good. XD
Yeah, "did you even read the fic" reviews weird me out. But I tend to respond to all my reviewers (who aren't anonymous or blocking. Or "UPDATE!" reviews) and I find that asking what the heck they meant (politely) can get some really interesting feedback.

Neil Gaimon does? I haven't ever read anything about him personally (like interviews), so his works made me believe he was cool >:|
Interaction is fun:D
