I've been expanding my imbibers palate of late with wine and whiskeys. This week I had been in the mood for some smashed grapes so I sampled a couple recent purchases.

Big Dog Rating Scale:
FG = Fucking Good
G = Good
Meh = Meh, neither here nor there
S = Shite
FS = Fucking Shite
The scale allows for mutiples of Good or Shite (ie; FFFFG or FFFFS).

Sounds like the Hogue 2003 Genesis was ABACAB.

From my time living in Santa Rosa, I don't recall liking a lot of stuff from Ferrari-Carrano. I'd definitely recommend a visit there. They have an awesome looking winery.

My Sonoma County/Dry Creek vineyard is Chateau Souverain.

I like Siena okay, but if I'm going to go for a Tuscan style red, I'm going to go for a real Tuscan. It just feels like it's lacking something for me. And seeing as my store sells it for $31 ($20 on sale at the moment) I'm not going to be buying it again any time soon.
