As he walked in, he saw a young man who he assumed was the doctor come out of the back room.
"What's up, Doc? My name's Arthur. I got sent down here 'cause I ate some coins and started feelin' sick. I feel okay now, but ya got anything that can help in case it happens again? Oh, and you wouldn't happen to have any carrots around here, would ya? I'm kinda hungry."

"Have a seat, then, Arthur. I'll be right back; this happens more often than you might think, so we're prepared." He then raised an eyebrow at the mention of carrots. "No carrots, as far as I know. It might be best to not eat anything until I give you some medicine, anyway." Simon fished in his vest pocket for a key and went to unlock the cabinet containing the medicated gum given to people who had swallowed coins. He had to be honest with himself- he had no idea WHY people would do such a thing, but plenty of adults who should have known better came in sick, along with curious children who put anything into their mouths.
"Chew on this," Simon said, coming back into the waiting room and offering Arthur a piece of gum. "You should feel better in a few minutes."

Arthur chewed thoughtfully for a few seconds before a smile crossed his face. "Hey, this is pretty good! How much of this gum do I get, doc? Anyway I can get it in bulk?"

"It's medicated gum made from plants that grow around the tree," he explained, then quirked a brow at Arthur's reaction. "You're supposed to take a fresh piece after you eat for at least another day- until the coin's ingredients leave your system and you stop feeling nauseous. So I can only give you a few pieces at a time; we have to keep some for others. As I said, this happens more often than it really should."
