Brief note!

I am in NJ this weekend to pick up Dottie for another round of dogsitting. Tonight my parents and I invited Susan over for dinner (Chinese takeout, because why not), and tomorrow afternoon Susan and I plan to see a movie: Star Trek Beyond at 4:10 for preference, but if that's sold out we will go to a showing of Ghostbusters at 4:30

I liked it! Susan and I ended up in the very front row (all other seats were sold by the time we got there, because opening weekend *sigh*) so some of the action scenes were a little visually unintelligible and everybody's faces looked kind of weird, but it was a lot more hope-peace-exploration-wonder than the previous two, which I greatly appreciated. Plus there were no naked or semi-naked women, which I also greatly appreciated. :)

(I mean, the plot is still a little 'hang on, what?' in various places, and there continues to be far too much compression of space instead of a proper appreciation of how vast everything should be, but eh, nothing's perfect.)
