Sanzo was gazing out the window when Goku burst into the room wearing the most insane outfit he had ever seen. What is that..." was all he had a chance to say before she seized him and pulled him towards the door. He snatched his arm back with a growl, but seeing it was going to be no use arguing with the monkey at this point, he seized his winter cloak and a few beers, and followed her out.

"What sort of an outfit is that?" he grumbled as he followed her.

"Somethin' festive!" Goku replied, grinning to herself and with a boundless energy putting an extreme spring to her step. Even though Sanzo was obviously not happy with what she was wearing or where he was going, she couldn't help but grin and bounce around like any child hyped on excitement would. Or high on sugar.

Sanzo snorted in derision. "I don't even want to know where you got that thing," he grumbled. He wasn't much looking forward to sitting outside in the cold with a bouncy monkey running around in some sort of dress, but booze would help. And a smoke. He lit a cigarette as he walked, pulling up his hood to protect it (and his ears) from the chill breeze that danced around them.

The park wasn't all that far from the apartment, yet still Goku managed to talk about the new year, how hungry she was, how much fun this was going to be, her resolutions, and how hungry she was. Then again, excitement ruled and charged every fiber of her being. "What's your plans fer th' year Sanzo?"

[ooc: Jump in this thread but continue to thread the two's way to the park or something in Sanzo's reply if you want.]Gojyo sat down after arranging everything and beamed at his handiwork. He'd been running around for hours, bringing stuff from his dorm room and the kitchen, and think he did pretty good. His bottomless wine bottle was there, and he'd gotten juice for Goku and foodstuff for all of them to share. The fireworks he had requisitioned had arrived just in time and he had picked a spot where they could fire them off from without getting anything on fire or hitting any of the buildings ( ... )

Yeah, that sounded like a very good idea. Goku suddenly seemed to calm as that was brought back to the forefront of her mind. "Yeah..." If she stayed here any longer then...

Then Goku was thoroughly distracted by Gojyo and the thought of food and fun totally distracted her from her momentary solemness. "Hey~" Now she was the bountiful little fuzzy ball of energy again, and she bound up to Gojyo with a noise maker in her mouth. Just to be a little more annoying? Yeah. Probably.

"I'm surprised you managed tah do this all by yourself~" Goku teased once she finished being loud and obnoxious. She smirked at Gojyo, ready to poke and prod and make him annoyed with her, wanting to have that fun... and normalcy. She just hoped Sanzo forgot his paper fan in the room...

Sanzo had not forgotten it, but for the moment he would forgo the beatings. He gave Gojyo's spread a critical look but couldn't find any immediate complaint to make about it. So he stood and took a long drag on his cigarette as Goku made a nuisance out of herself.

"Where did you get that thing?" he asked her as he searched for the best place to sit down.

"Idiot," he told Goku at her light-hearted jab, and would have shoved the girl had he not remembered in the last minute that she was a girl. The gender bend posed all sorts of problems, the awkwardness and uncertainty over how to act around her being not the least of them.

At Sanzo's question he took a more critical look of her, but instead of the noisemaker, took in the dress. Oh, if this weren't the monkey...he stared, far longer than it should take to read the message stitched across her chest.
