One very bad habit we humans can't seem to shake is the tendency to slide into complacency. You know what I'm talking about. Once we get really good at something, or comfortable with something, we stop paying attention and being careful because after all we are in complete control. Seeing into your own blind spots is one of the hardest things to do when you're trying to improve. Slowly, we learn to do it ourselves, but the fast and painful method is to have a critique partner!

And I tell you, mouse, I am grateful as heck for mine. Even during the painful growth spurts, they were worth their weight in gold.

All crit partners aren't "meshable", so I know I got really lucky. :)
