TEC/TDD is without question my favorite piece of Doctor Who. Everything is superb: the funny banter, the scariness, the effective plot, the message, the acting and character development, the sense of time and place, and let's not forget the sexiness. I think the only thing here I don't like is Rose's hair. Steven Moffat rocks my world!

I love the whole of the two episodes, but I think "Everybody lives" is my absolute favourite! I always grin like an idiot - even if I have tears pooling in my eyes.

Absolutely! I just want to climb into the frame, give everybody hugs and high fives, and do a little dance of joy. After all poor Nine has to go through, it is so beautiful to see him get this one perfect moment.

I always thought they were just kind of bantering - Maybe I'll have to watch again to reconsider this. What a hardship.
I agree, this episode is unusually high in scientific credibility. It lends a little extra sheen to an already very spiffy story. And Nancy is gold. She's the one character I would really love to know what happened to her (I've already written one story, and have a feeling more may come). Florence Hoath is amazing. I still harbour a little fantasy of seeing her in a version of Jane Eyre (with Eccleston as Rochester, class issues be damned).
Captain Jack! I don't find him especially attractive in these episodes (obviously putting the moves on someone really doesn't do it for me), but he has wonderfully funny dialog. Exactly. I was rolling my eyes at Rose for falling for his line (at least he's somewhat better than Adam), but the banter with the Doctor ( ... )

Yes! He's really too good a person to be much of a conman. The Doctor can tell that about him enough to trust that his guilt will make him take care of the bomb. Even ignoring the fact that he's a better person underneath, he's more interesting in his sketchiness than Adam, who had all the charisma of dirt. Unexceptional dirt. Jack just got better with every episode he was in this season.
I had a similar laugh when he showed up on Heroes and the wide response was "I don't know who this Christopher Eccleston bloke is, but damn, he's funny."
Hee! I'd never thought about what sort of impression he'd give to people who weren't busy squeeing about the presence of the Doctor, but I can see that. Just because the man has gravitas doesn't mean he can't be hysterically funny.

HA!! Yeah, can't really expect your companion to have mind reading abilities there, Doctor. :D
I like that she's more than just her teen pregnancy and care for the street kids. She's witty ("Your ears have special powers too?"), she knows how to manipulate people ("Oh, look! There's the sweat of your brow"), and she worries about her country's future (the talk with Rose about the future is great. I want to hug them both!) The actress is stellar.
Amen.
The moment where they realize that the tape has run out but the kid is still speaking scares the pants off of me. I think the first time I saw it I gasped out loud, and it still chills me.
I think I did more than gasp. :D
Also, Doctor? Trying to resonate concrete is about on par with needing to wash your hair on the lame excuse scale.
BWAH. So very true. :D
