I was out for my early morning stomp through the local area where I happened to find a middle-age Asian woman panicking in the middle of the street. Her keys were locked in her car with the vehicle still running.

There are two popular ways in unlocking the mechanism in a car door.
1) Slim Jim - There are different bars once can use. A wedge for the window helps so one doesn't scratch the glass.
2) Automotive lock picks - You'll generally see auto picks which have ridges like a car key, double sided.

I locked my keys in one of my old cars once. I had CAA (Canadian aaa) so it was easily done... But the guy that came was /too/ good at what he does, I'm pretty sure opening cars was just his day job, and he probably did it after work too >.> man he was shady looking :p

I locked the keys in my 68 Ford once. Used the oil dipstick (hood opens from outside) and pulled back the door glass, then used the loop end to pull up the lock.
