Not as Clueless as Last Week

When John Edwards dropped out of the race on Wednesday, I was absolutely crushed. The one candidate I truly identified with will no longer campaign and this is happens a week before California gets to vote. I woke up on Wednesday hearing that, I thought they were referring to the last time he dropped out four years ago. When there was a breaking ( Read more... )

It's so awesome to see how deeply you're thinking about this!

If it helps - I think Edwards would approve of your vote for Obama - from everything I've read, it seems that the former respects the latter both politically and personally. But of course, your vote is your own and if you choose to cast it for Edwards, I wouldn't fault you!

Perhaps to me the most pressing reason to vote Obama over Edwards Tuesday is that the race between Hillary and Barack is so close - Obama needs every vote he can get, especially in California. You might be able to think of an Obama vote as not just a vote for him, but a vote to continue getting out the messages Edwards has brought to the campaign.

I have a feeling that I will not make a final decision until I get to a voting booth on Tuesday b/c I keep changing my mind about my last piece of conflict. Right now I hear that Obama and Clinton are practically tied. Since this is not a winner take all system, they stand to get a lot of delegates in CA come Tuesday, aah the conflict!

That's how I felt when Dennis Kucinich dropped out. He's the only candidate that I identified with and would trust to do a good job running this country. I didn't really feel close to any of the other candidates. I know that him winning the Democrat seat would have been a long shot, but it was nice to have someone there that I felt represented my views.

But I agree that between Clinton and Obama, I'd choose Obama.

You'd be amazed how many people actually would agree with his views, but they think he never has a chance which is a shame b/c he would have a chance everyone who did support him, politics sucks sometimes b/c of that. :(
