FSCMMM: prelims are over, the bracket is complete and OMFG it's Samantha Carter vs Dean Winchester right out of the gate and this is gonna KILL ME. I just know it.

GAH, my nerves.

Yes, voting against Dean and Barney are gonna be my constant in this game.

If I go with the general sense, I can think of two characters in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy bracket who can take Dean down: Eric and Buffy. If fandom gets behind either, then the game is set.

However, if shenanigans keep happening with SPN and Smallville, then we're all screwed. :(

Also, guess I have to campaign for Peter Bishop? I don't want to see a True Blood character wining nothing, even if he's Eric.

The fucked up thing about the bracket is that Eric is one of the only characters I can think of that could realistically beat Dean. So if I go with strategic voting, that would be Eric. And truth is I care very little for either Peter and Eric, but really: NOT FAIR, UNIVERSE, JOSH VS ASKARS IS MADE OF FAIL. I honestly don't know who to vote for.

The same with Scully because Topher won? SERIOUSLY????

OH MY FUCK, YES, TOPHER IS GOING DOWN. That little sociopathic creep! ARGH. I don't even UNDERSTAND him being in the competition. BUT! New fandom woobie vs. people don't even remember The X-Files = gonna have to campaign for Scully something fierce as well.

I've been watching the fandom march madness since there's a couple of people on my flist playing along. I'd join in but I know almost none of the other fandoms (like comedy, I haven't heard of most of them, I'm bad I know). I will be voting for the scifi brackets though. Dean's going down. So is Clark. As long as it doesn't come down to Carter and Weir I'll be ok.

Results are in: Chloe won the Smallville bracket, and Sam won the Stargate one. Here's the final bracket, voting starts on Saturday!

As for the fandoms you don't know -- you can always ask in the comments over at the voting community for people to convince you who you should vote for. It's actually pretty fun, and there are A LOT of picspams and gifspams and general hilarity that goes around. Plus, there's a great campaign going on this year to vote for the female characters in the races you don't care about. :)

I'm totally behind female domination. I doubt I'll have time to check out the voting comm although that does sound like a ton of fun.

I am so grateful and happy that Stargate was in the prelims this year -- and the fact that Sam is in the bracket seriously feels like A TOTAL WIN. But really -- this fandom is impossible to rally at large [esp. behind Sam, what with so much contempt for her from so many corners. Ugh]. But I'm thinking of hitting the Sam/Jack comms to see if gets us a little bit further.
