essa cor não sai de mim

This week, my flist spoiled me on Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls and Lost, during the 8-hour window that takes me to wait for the .avi file to show up, download said file and watch the episode.

Maybe it's just this week. Or maybe it's just my flist.

Or, to make it all about me *g*, it's just that I can't watch the shows at the same time as they' ( Read more... )

I'm not sure how to feel about the spoilers either. It's bothering me and it feels like it shouldn't. It seems like fandom etiquette is changing from the *really strict* way we used to regard spoilers last season to the little hints and icons of this season. And so we gotta be extra careful if we want to stay unspoiled. Which is doable, btw.

I waited a day before changing to this spoilery kate/sawyer icon, though it was made from last week's previews. I forgot not everyone sees previews. Mea culpa; I'll wait longer in the future. (Just because I'm not uber-fannish about Lost doesn't mean other people aren't. *spanks self*)

Well, Lost is actually the show that I don't care much for and am only watching so that I can mock afterwards. *g* But I admit that the icons came up *really really* fast this week.

I mean. I know internet connections are getting faster and people are getting the episodes quicker. So I understand the that the time between the episode airs and the time it's 'safe' to talk about it freely is only gonna get shorter. It's just that right now? It seems too short to me.

Well, I'm guitly of spoiling you then -- but I sorta did that on purpose. I've seen the icons everywhere on my flist so I just assumed everyone knew about it -- which was wrong of me, obviously. I'm really sorry. And I shall edit the post with a cut on that part. :)

Nah, I had caught a couple of things already I was aware that there was stuff out there. I agree that it is our own responsibility to not spoil ourselves and once I had stopped going OMG I laughed.

I have been managing to ignore all pictorial spoilers by wearing my "that's a manip" hat.

Hee. That's a very good way to go. :) I think I'm mostly gonna avoid my flist before I watch the episodes though. It's the safest way.

Yeah, it seems to me that while last season there was this sort-of spoken rule about not talking about the current episodes for at least a couple of days [or a week, even!], this season things are coming up immediately after the episode airs. Especially the icons, yeah [and I'm probably guilty of that too, especially with Gilmore Girls icons]. It's making me *really* wary of my flist on Tuesdays nights/Wednesday mornings.

I totally missed the ep as I was hanging out with evemac and had to wait until the next day to watch it as my mom taped it. So I checked my flist in the morning and....basically found out half the plot. Which really annoyed the crap out of me. Usually I'm fine, but as of now, Lost is one of about...what? 3 or 4 shows I actually care to watch anymore? Sigh.

The other shows (Veronica, GG) don't bother me as much as I don't watch them. But when it's the precious few I do watch, I get overly pissed. ::shrugs::

Well, Lost is the one show I don't particularly care much if I'm spoiled or not, as I'm only watching it so that I can point and laugh *g*, but even then, it's a mystery-type show, I wanna watch it without knowing what's going to happen. The VM comment I saw was the one that pissed me off the most this week.

I think I'm just gonna make a couple of filters and if that doesn't work, I'll avoid my flist until I've watched the episodes. It's probably the best way to be unspoiled these days.
