Who am I to resist a meme? Or Robert Redford?

The meme part: When you see this, make a post in your journal or in a community. It can be anything: a crosspost something you've posted on Tumblr, a few words about the last thing you read/watched, or just a "Hi, how is everyone?" Then go read your f-list and leave at least one comment.(I cannot now find the Tumblr post with the anti-anxiety shark ( Read more... )

*sigh* So many good movies, or movies I have good memories of, possibly just because Redford was in them. *g*

I'm trying to recall my reaction to that scene in The Candidate when I saw it in the cinema. I think it was as you suspected, shocking enough to signal bad things to come without it having to be further expounded on.

Can't wait to read about your reactions/responses to the rest of the movies on the list.

As a true Robert Redford conisseur, I have seen all of these and loved them all except for Indecent Proposal. I recommend The Hot Rock (1972, heist/caper)

After you watch The Sting, be sure to check out Dorinda's stories. http://archiveofourown.org/users/Dorinda/pseuds/Dorinda/works?fandom_id=27768

The Sting and Sneakers are awesome. Out of Africa is one of those movies I feel guilty for not liking more, because it is objectively awesome and Meryl Streep is awesome and yet I have never been able to pay enough attention to it to watch it all the way through.

Also, you could technically put A River Runs Through It on here, because even though Redford's not actually in it, he did the voiceover narration AND directed it, so whatever, it totally counts. Also it is a good movie.

I think I saw A River Runs Through It back in high school when I was systematically watching things with Brad Pitt in them, but it could be time for another look... :)

Oooh! Robert Redford movies! The Sting! Sneakers! If you want viewing companions for either of those--or, like most of the rest of the list, I would bring snacks!

Ooh, we should do that! I'm watching The Sting with Julie this weekend, but I have no special plans for Sneakers (or the rest of the list) so far. :)
