Nrrr... Cruz was willing to run the economy off the cliff because Obama is a Black guy.
I'm guessing Cruz won't do anything of the sort, because there's not a way for the media to play the "opinions of shape of Earth differ" game between Cruz and Trump.

What Cruz really cares about is getting re-elected. When election time comes around, if things have gotten bad, then Cruz can throw Trump under the bus, but it's not like voters care about anything that happened more than two months ago.

1) It is (of course) a damnable lie to suggest that Cruz ever contemplating defaulting on the debt (or, in more weasely words) "maneuvering around paying" the debt. What he proposed was to hold the line on the debt ceiling. This would require spending cuts, but (of course) would not require missing debt payments. This might or might not be a policy that would "run the American economy off a fiscal cliff", but there's no reason to think that Cruz believes that. *I* certainly don't believe it. So to say that he was *willing* to run the economy off a cliff is just plain fabrication ( ... )

What Cruz attempted to do was to place the government in a position whereby it would have been required to default on debts ALREADY INCURRED. No cut in spending at that point would have averted the debt default ( ... )

This is false.
