Yeah we have a couple okay things but how often do we go? A couple times a year? Austin rocks. I swear if my daughter ends up there I am moving too. I warned her! Or Nashville. Or... we will see.

SO FREAKING ENVIOUS I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO BEGIN... AND OMIGOD YOU GOT TO SEE TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB! WTF WOMAN?! YOU DIDN'T MENTION THEM IN YOUR FIRST LINE UP, DID YOU BECAUSE I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE MADE A BEELINE TO YOUR PLACE PRONTO!

(I saw them in NYC and for the love of God, all that is Irish and Musical stays dear to my heart always.)

It was luck! Fate! Karma!

I had never even heard of them (WHY? Why had i never heard of them, this is criminal!)

I was planning to go hear Gaslight Anthem but I got some food and some tea and my buddy April, the PR gal for Sweet Leaf Tea said she was really excited about them and we had the base camp at that stage anyway...

OMG THEY ARE SO FREAKING GOOD! HOW ARE THEY NOT SUPERSTARS ALREADY???

This encapsulated two of my three main fest rules:

1) You will discover something AWESOME if you give yourself a chance
2) ALWAYS ask people who they are excited about hearing
3) More sunscreen and water than you think you need

The rest are, in no particular order:

Don't feel bad about what you miss
Carry extra tissues for the port a potty
Don't be a dick
Go home when you get tired (or the kid is tired)...it's not an endurance event

You are a fest warrior and really did get to see a lot of people, groups, acts that I love.

(We need to plan on me coming next year. :D)

I buy the Kitsune Maison Compilations because they always include a wild array of newbies that deserve attentions. This is where I found TDCC first and owe their appearance in my life to junkshop_disco who feeds my love of music with tantalizing youtube videos all of the time!

You can flip C and Beth for the extra bed if you make it. Don't worry, we always have plenty of space for an air mattress. And by next September we'll have an extra bath!

I've always been pretty sure my brain would EXPLODE from the overstimulation and awesomeness of ACL. It'd be a fun way to go, though. I'm jealous that you get to do it every year.

It's all about pacing! Life became a LOT easier after the third year when I admitted I needed to be able to hibernate the Monday after the fest! Still, I find this easier to manage than SXSW with the hundreds of showcases at dozens and dozens of clubs over five days.

And, of course, let me know if you ever come down for it!
