I'm sorry, I didn't realize that transitioning to monogamy involved keeping an open, frequently checked OkCupid profile listing yourself as Available and looking for long term and short term dating partners. And talking in your profile how much you love flirting and sex. My bad.

not sleeping with this one, not actually a snark, attention whoring, zomfg plague!, sexism, cheaters, snarkity snark snark, monogamy, commenter's personal issues interfering, not your personal journal

Of course they can, but her profile reads like she is looking for it. I could see forgetting to change a status, or what you are looking for (I think available is automatically set if you are listed as seeing someone but looking for dates, so it is really one in the same), but also forgetting to change the text of a profile? Just one is easy to overlook, everything together starts to look like a pattern. Especially with the fact that she is signing in so regularly.

Just for a little bit of advocatus diaboli, I'm currently using OKCupid to hunt for possible new friends in the city I just moved to, but my setting says "available", my profile text doesn't say that I am not looking for sex, and I do log in on a regular basis because people send me messages on OKC and I arrange coffee dates and stuff via it.

Maybe this person, whoever she is, is shopping, and maybe she's just like me, and doesn't think it's anybody's goddamned business whether she's shopping or not. :)

Because inferences drawn from static Internet profiles with which you have not interacted
are always to be accurate! Especially if you go by the 'last logged on" date.

I am reminded why I don't do OKC any more.
