I've been home in NC for a full week. My days were full of holiday parties with Republican relatives, eating, drinking, DVD adventures and mostly shopping, but now Mom has gone back to work and Tyler left with her animal entourage and for the first time in months, it seems, I have both the time and the inclination to blog a bit ( Read more... )

Thanksgiving is over, and the Xmas season has officially begun. My turkey day was very nice, but far too short... I took a break from Black Friday shopping downtown to pop in to the office for two hours, and I went in for 7 hours today. Taiko continues! At my first lesson, my quad cramped up during the warmup and I was in severe pain for three days. Whoops! Lesson the Second was better. Ringtaro's not charging me because I'm going to help him with some translations, organizing workshops, and applying for grants. I woke up this morning with every good intention of starting on painting my room. diplobrat has a whole wall of hers done... a beautiful warm terracotta color. Mine is orange... so orange, ya'll, there just ain't another word for it. It makes me really, really happy.
