[001 - Audio] It's almost like a bad hangover...

[It isn't that she woke up in an unfamiliar forest that throws Rose for a loop. She had been traveling back to the Homelands, along with just about every other Fable who had been in the mundy world. Haven was supposed to have a huge, magical grove along its borders, so forests were to be expected. No, it was the fact that she woke up, when she ( Read more... )

Now that sounds familiar. Except I usually wake up with wings and just no memory of what I did to fall asleep like that.

Welcome to Luceti Miss. It's a whole different world. Good news is that isn't quite as scary as that generally sounds.

Exactly.

Though I'm not sure people remember this place when they leave.

Why do you say that? Do they do memory wipes or something?

Or restart them...

It's hard to explain.

My friend who was here before, he was younger each time he came back.

I'd say it sounds like they're messing with time but...

[That's impossible. Or at least, it should be. Even the 13th floor witches had never demonstrated fussing with time itself. At least, as far as she knew. This situation is weird, even for Rose, and she's lived through a hundred lifetimes of strange.]

That shouldn't be possible. At all. Wouldn't that sort of thing rip up the...fabric of time or something like that?

[Yes, it's a technical term.]

They'd have to be. They bring people back from the dead and not as zombies, so that's really the only way.

And it should rip it, but they already have to be messing with space, since the people here all come from different worlds. Best I can think of is that it folds it and then pushes things to here. Which, as a consequence, would pretty much mess up time along the way, eh?

[People coming back from the dead isn't unheard of, especially with some of the more well known Fables, but it's not a common thing even among them.]

I'll have to take your word for it. Time still moves in a straight line where I come from.

Thanks for the information though. I appreciate it, Marco.

Another time I'll have to ask you about those exceptions.

[Rose is getting a little too close to being overwhelmed by all the information she's received today, on top of everything else.]

Thanks, I have a feeling we all need all the luck we can get.
