So, this happened last week and
ranua - (theyareallsoopretty on tumblr) - put up a post about it over on Tumblr. I just reblogged it with some added commentary and thought I'd share here as well. Basically, some people are lovely, thoughtful friends and some people are asshole thieves. My added commentary here

I know! I hope the thief wears my Impala necklace to bed and it wraps around their throat and chokes them out! Damn. My friend ordered me another one, so now I have one of my own, because she is an awesome friend!

I don't know what prompted you to say so, but I won't disagree, I am awesome. You are awesome too! We should form a superhero team and called ourselves The Awesomes! Or, The Awesome Squad. Or Awescredibles! (I may be spending too much time in the headspace of a 9 year old fanboy).

I think I was mostly upset that they ripped holes in the sweet little note she wrote me, though of course I was also sad they stole my necklace.
My friend contacted the company and arranged for them to send me another one, though it is my understanding that they usually only sell at conventions, they did go ahead and let her buy one and shipped it to me, so now I have an Impala necklace! (it came on a really nice chain too!)

My friend arranged to get me another necklace, so that was a sweet surprise when it arrived in the mail though! <3

Well, technically it was jewelry, as the Impala was on a chain. Though I bet the thief doesn't even watch SPN and didn't even understand what it was and also, it had no sentimental value to them as their friend didn't pick it up for them special at convention!! Argh.
They did tape it all back up, yet left the empty plastic sleeve and the empty cardboard tab in there and the note, saying that there was suppose to be an Impala in the envelope. It seems like it would have been easier just to steal the whole thing and pretend it got lost in the mail!
