So this has been going around on Tumblr, but for those of you that aren't on Tumblr, I thought I'd give you a heads up. This website, ebooks-trees, has been using a bot to randomly and rapidly steal fics archived at AO3 and other places. Without permission. LOL, I celebrate *every* year on LJ, I love it here so much. The first week of May is a big one for me -- LJ anniv., my first fic posting anniv., and adopting Pippin anniv.

Why not talk about how you found LJ, and what you were like when you wrote your very first post? Or give us a pic-spam of kitties and puppies! :)

LOL, I celebrate *every* year on LJ, I love it here so much. The first week of May is a big one for me -- LJ anniv., my first fic posting anniv., and adopting Pippin anniv.

I remember that, every year you have one big week of celebrating! I celebrate my anniversary every year but it's the big 5 this year, so I felt like I should do something special. I just don't know how to top all the other years. I like to use it as a way to celebrate my fandom life and all the friendships I've made and the creative outlet it offers me - you know the drill!

Why not talk about how you found LJ, and what you were like when you wrote your very first post? Or give us a pic-spam of kitties and puppies! :)

I figured you were keeping track as well. It looks the whole thing may have been a credit card scam after all, but all of fandoms' fics seem to be pulled now, so good on fandom for sticking together on this one!

I have a friend who writes ebooks as a part time job and her publisher sent out a memo saying that they had investigated the site and discovered it to be a credit card scam. I'm guessing if they were a scam, they didn't want the amount of attention they were getting from fandom people jumping all over them! As my friend said, "They messed with fandom, their gonna get hell." ;)

I checked today and none of my fics seemed to be up, thanks for the heads up. This is one of those fics I look at and go, how did this come out of my head. I rarely write horror but I'm really proud of this one and glad you like it. Also I want to finish some of works in progress.

According to a friend of mine who writes for a ebook publisher, her editor/publisher sent out an email saying they had discovered it to be a credit card scam. I'm guessing they thought fic writers would take it quietly and found out different!

I just love how much impact that Xavier fic has in so few words!

Let's see if I can remember them all, most of mine seem to be stuck in WiP stage. The most recent one is a crossover of October Daye, a series I love with The Raven Cycle, another series I love. Two teenage boys meeting and verbally fencing and being interesting. There's an AU of sorts I have that is Charles and Erik being captured, somehow given amnesia and them figuring things out and getting out but connecting to each other through their confusion.

I can't recall all the others at the moment.

I love that TWD fc! It hits so hard. :)

They were taking from multiple sites, but I checked the list and never saw DW or LJ on there. I guess they were taking for-sale books too, as a friend of mine who writes for an ebook publisher got a memo about it from her publisher. It was some kind of credit card scam. Looks like Fandom slammed them with legal threats and they ran away with their tails between their legs!
