Yes, that's what I've done, but I thought it looked a bit sloppy because the knot shows. I'll have to try to tie it neater. Oh well, the scarf is a gift and a favour for a friend and he'd better be grateful to get it at all! ^.~

1. get to the end of a row
2. cut the first coloured wool so it's not attached to the ball any more Leave about 3/4 inches spare of wool dangling off your scarf.
3. tie your second coloured wool onto the first one securly
4. carry on knitting as normal!
