Lights flickered as the fixtures swayed from the ceiling, dust and bits of ceiling crumbling down on the floor with another tremor. The young digimon and human tamers that had been in Suoh's early morning class cried out in fear and huddled closer together. The weak back up generator that was keeping power to the dojo barely managed to bring the lights back to life, dousing the area in a pale, sickly yellow light. Outside wind howled and thunder rolled, only adding to the frightening noises.

Suoh and Alice were the only teachers there when everything had gone to hell. Between the insane weather, quakes, and rioters outside leaving wasn't an option. All they could do was try to keep the students calm and hope that the older Japanese-styled structure held together.

Paulo flinched again when another tremor hit and the thunder rolled over them. This was bad. He felt his tail puff up again and just decided to leave it. Brushing it down was useless now. He watched the door, never minding the face the ceiling could fall of them. It was the rioters that scared him. He could hear them roaring and screaming and in some sense it almost sounded like barking. His ears were flat against his head and his arms wrapped around his torso. He didn't want to be here. He didn't want this to be happening. He wanted to just go home and cuddle in bed with Edaniel and pretend none of this was happening.

"PAULO!"

Even screaming, Edaniel's voice could barely be heard over the cacophony of noise outside. Those damn rioter were making things every difficult. He didn't dare transform in to his larger feline self lest he give them more of a reason to attack him, but at the same time trying to get through in his human form was almost impossible.

Lord only knew why the hell they hadn't actually set themselves on the dojo yet, but at the rate things were going it was only a matter of time.

"PAULOOOO!"

"... is-- ... Paulo, do you hear that?" Suoh said, turning towards the door.

It...It couldn't be. "Edaniel?!" Paulo ran to the door, throwing it open and looking outside into the disaster. What was he doing here?! He should be at the Hyperion where it is safe! Not here where he could die!

"EDANIEEEEEEL!" He called into the noise, trying to direct him towards his location.
