Her head hurt as did the rest of her body, it felt sore and reluctant to move even as her eyes fluttered open and she forced herself to awaken fully. Oh god, her head, her head... had softened that blow against the wall. Reza paused, stirring a bit to press one hand against her face, everything was still in one piece, which was good. It was more ( Read more... )

"Well, congrats to me," he said, putting an arm around her for no real reason. "And you do, but I'll still worry."

Kamil looked down at her and nodded, "I'm alright. Sore, tired, and thankful that I'm here and not somewhere else."

He fell silent for a few minutes before he spoke up again, "Thank you, Reza. For making me be here and not somewhere else."

She wasn't sure what to say to that for a moment so she just nudged him a little on his shoulder, he wasn't angry at her for what she did and Reza was relieved a lot, she sighed. "I'm sorry." she shrugged a little staring away at the floor.

Part of her knew he was right, that he had a right to react how he did but.. it hadn't seem like the safest idea for him- as a General- as Kamil to do.

"You had a right but..." Ah, words, she hated words. Well, whatever, he got the point.

"Why are you sorry? If anything, you saved my life. God knows I'd be in the hospital with charges pressed, or even dead. You had every right to try and stop me, so don't regret it."

Kamil bit his tongue, knowing that his sisters would have given their displeasure at him running off in a blind rage. He said something in Italian and let his head fall back against the wall.

"I don't regret stopping you." Only hurting him.

Reza always wondered why he was so understanding, had she been in his place, she would've hurt him badly and sulked for ages, but she was a child about a lot of things. "They're your family too, you care." She shrugged, a little tense again because she couldn't quite explain what she meant but...

She looked at him when he said something in Italian and she didn't understand what he meant, but pressed a kiss against his neck.

He closed his eyes at the kiss - god, that felt good. A change and something...soft from the brutalness of the fight earlier.

"...there are other ways to have revenge, I'm sure. But it still hurts," he muttered softly. "I don't want to have our families involved, but the White Order clearly thinks the opposite."

"Our families are the foundation of the Order, everyone who carries surnames like yours or mine... they'll always be targets." Okay, so not the most comforting thing to say but... it was the truth. Part of her wished the fight hadn't got so out of hand but it... well.

"Can you stand? I'll take you to bed." reluctantly she began shuffling out from her position, being so comfortable and pressed against him, to his side, shifting to see the best way to get him to bed.

Unfortunate, but she had an amazing point. Even if they broke from the Order, they would still be targets for secrets and insights.

"Mm," he took his arm from around her to put his hand on the wall, standing up slowly. "I...think I'll be alright, as far as walking." He turned, taking his time, to offer Reza his good arm. "Come on, we'll help each over to bed."

Reza was giving him a 'you idiot' look but said nothing as she stood up herself, taking his offered arm. No point in reminding him she could walk just fine but... instead she grabbed a hold of him- firmly and lead the way upstairs.

Whoops.

Thankfully the top part of the house was fairly intact. (Would neighbors complain about the noise from before?)

Reaching his room took longer and more energy than expected.

Kamil was glad to have help up to the bedroom - he doubt he could have made it there on his own. He sat down on the bed and fell back, sighing. The bed was so inviting and so comfortable, mm.

But, cleaning up first would be good.

"Mm, I should wipe my face." He pushed himself up and reached for a drawer in the nightstand next to him, taking out a first aid kid, some small towels, and several water bottles. He passed one over to Reza, "Take it, you need it."

Reza also found that caring thing about him really disconcerting. She took it, fiddling with it in her hands and turned to stare at him. "...Sorry about the chair." She could see the drying blood on the side of his face and that... had been an accident.

"Should take off those clothes too if you're going to lie on the clean bed." Not that she meant anything dirty by it, even as she reached over to help him... somehow.
