I guess it must be REALLY different with BBC because I just automatically assumed that Merlin would get renewed seeing as it's been doing so well. Are the futures of shows really up in the air over there?
BUT YAY FOR RENEWAL. Though I'm slightly brought down by the only-ten-episodes part. =(
From what I've read, Fringe has actually had some pretty low ratings. That said, FOX is notorious for being the one channel that arbitrarily cancels show. The other channels are pretty predictable (ALLLL about the ratings).
I don't think things are as up in the air as in the US, possibly partly because there aren't as many 'big shows' over here- we have pretty much Merlin, Doctor Who, and possibly Primeval, and that's it for prime time family entertainment. I worry because Robin Hood got cancelled after 3 seasons (although I think ratings were down?) and Primeval got cancelled (and then renewed again). It IS possible so I worry. And it makes me SO happy when I find out its confirmed! :D
10 isn't as good as 13, but there is always one or two episodes that are deadwood (i.e. troll episodes last year). I'm hoping 10 episodes means every single one is epic and awesome and throws the plot forward.
