Writer's block, sorta, kinda.

Yeah, so I'm finding it really hard going writing chapter 14.1.  I have ideas as to what to write, but it's taking me so long to get it down in Word.  Normally when I'm writing during the week, I average 20-25 slides a night.  Not a great deal, but I tend to do other things at the same time, such as play the game or surf the net.  This week I'm ( Read more... )

Have I volunteered for the BC yet? If not, ME ME ME! I do like yummy Sims, after all.

Don't worry about the writers block, there's been plenty of times I've got as far as actually opening the chapter I need to work on, take one look, think 'NAH!' and go do something else. As it's always said, just do something esle for a while and then you'll probably feel more inclined or inspired. And we'll all be happy to wait for as long as it takes anyway. I'm excited about seeing the kids iat uni too, and your talk of gasps has me excited and intruiged..

Aww, old Henry! Bless, he still makes his little angry face. But he has indeed aged well. Dita's skintone and eyes still scare me a bit, but the kids pull it off well. And I think Rosemary's goreous - gasp gasp at her! I think the eye make up works, but then I quite like it when my Sims have big eyes. And I like those greens for the eyes! Third down on the right is especially yummy.

Ok you're in, that means one spot left. Things are looking good.

I've never had writer's block this bad, and I hate it. I've shot some story scenes with Alexandra to see if it helps, but it didn't.

I've stripped the kids of the skintone and eyes in bodyshop, and they are gorgeous. It's taken me a while to get used them since they aren't the normal style I use.

I've just made a sim with those eyes to share a dorm with Joe because I like them so much.

Cute kids!

I like those eyes, too. They do seem to suit the style of your Sims.

Sometimes you just need a mental shift. That's why I did the Asylum--I wasn't in the mood to play my Legacy and watch Raven and Tom and Cory and Helen get old. I'll also play my spares, or go muck around with the House of Stuff, or decorate houses, or meddle with the SimSelves...

You could always design the house for your BC, get Theo moved in and the Welcome Wagon out of the way, get the current volunteers all ready to go, and hijack people if you need to...

I have been playing a bit today, shooting some scenes with Alexandra, just to try to kick start my brain. It's not really worked. I do want to get Theo's BC set up: I'm planning on it taking place whilst they're still at uni so I do want it ready to go.

I'm really pleased with the eyes: I was getting fed up with so few choices.

I feel your pain with the writers block!

I know exactly what I want done in the chapter I'm working on, but at the same time I don't. I'm finding it hard to put the story in words.

SOOO excited about the BC. Cee's Family sim aspiration is in the red so she's in need of a good bachelor to come her way.

Yeah, so not loving the writer's block. I'm about half way through now, but it's been a real struggle today. Like you, I've got ideas for the captions, but putting it all together is not going well.

I'm really looking forward to playing the BC. I do think that I perhaps need a short break from playing legacy style.

So I thought I'd left someone out of the growing up pics, and in the shower it came to me:
